It’s the teenagers, who have no opinion of theirs as they just follow their influencers blindly. Because of this many kids have taken wrong decisions and all these decisions either leads them or their parents to depression. Privacy: We all have heard that every social media platforms respect the privacy of it’s users but you know what it is not completely private some authorities do have access to our personal information and some can even locate us. If security measures are not taken correctly this information can be used inadequately by the others. You should be extremely careful when you share your personal information.

Addiction: Another Disadvantages of Social Media is addiction and I know many of you will not even accept that you are addicted to social media but if you are using apps like Instagram, facebook, tiktok, etc. for like 7-8 hours a day, trust me, you’re addicted! If the first thing in the morning and last thing in the night you see is reels then you are addicted even more than you know. Because of this addiction your brain will rot  over time ,so it’s better to stay away from it or you will be staying away from everything around you except, social media.
3. Wrong information: I have seen tons and tons of information in social media that is totally rubbish and should be removed but I don’t know why those are getting fame and money instead. I mean how can you say,” someone who smoke and drink, misbehaves with others and abuse is independent”. Who in their right mind posts something like this in a social media platform and they are being appreciated for this. Just imagine information like this is shared and liked by tons of users. The meaning of being independent, strong and of course sigma is completely gone and some weird meanings have been made which should be stopped immediately. It is one of the major Disadvantages of Social Media.
4. Mentality: Because of the Disadvantages of Social Media and misinformation in the social media platforms the mentality of people is changing but sadly in a very wrong directions which are causing mental diseases like anxiety, depression, FOMO, and loneliness. They are just children but because of social media they are suffering through these diseases and the main point is that they aren’t even listening to their parents. Not only children but many adults have also become a prey to these diseases.
5. Reduction in Communication Skills: Since most of the people have developed a habit of communicating online they now have lost their real life communication skills. No matter how big a family is now everyone is just busy in their phone and won’t communicate at all. This is a serious problem as reduction in communication will result in the ending of bonds among family members.
6. Inappropriate Content: Teenagers and children can see vulgar things a very young age nowadays and that is because social media is a free access to content like these. People are making vulgar and inappropriate content which we all know should either be removed but this is not how social media works. Inappropriate content gets fame and prestige, this influence others to also do the same and that’s how this content has become so easily available.
